Holiday Open House at the Museum of the Albemarle

(Elizabeth City, NC) Join the Museum of the Albemarle on Saturday December 3rd from 1:00pm to 4:00pm for a Holiday Open House. Celebrate Christmas’ past with traditions of a Victorian style Holiday. Visit with Santa Claus from 1:30pm to 2:30 pm; enjoy Victorian activities with the Junior Docents (sponsored by the Perry Auto Group). Experience the Legend of Father Christmas and take in some holiday refreshments. Caroling choirs will provide the music of the season. Find a great selection of North Carolina crafted items in the Museum Gift Shop all day from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. For an added treat take a Carolina Carriage Ride for just $5.00 per person. Mr. Wayne Perry is Patriot of the Month!

Marty Mulholland, Faithful Navigator, Father Stanley Grubitz Fourth Degree Assembly of the Knights of Columbus, Elizabeth City, NC, has announced the selection of Mr. Wayne Perry, owner of Perry Auto Group, as the Knights of Columbus Patriot of the Month. He was presented with a Certificate of Recognition for his patriotic display of the American flag at his Carolina Chrysler and Performance Chevrolet automobile dealerships. Patriotism is one of the main precepts of the Fourth Degree Order of the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Perry has been in the automotive business for forty years, opening his first dealership at the age of twenty-seven, becoming the youngest Toyota dealership owner in Elizabeth City, NC. The  Perry Auto family has several employees whose tenure has spanned a couple of generations.

Mr. Perry stated, “I like helping people”. This fact is reflected in the many charities and institutions he has supported over the years. He is a fixture in the Elizabeth City area and is well respected in this community. In the past, he has been a residential developer/builder, a race team owner, and an avid aviator who served on the board at the Elizabeth City Air Park. The Perry Auto Group is also a current sponsor of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots. He recently hosted a Free Child Safety Event with local law enforcement, providing pictures and fingerprint kits to families of children from Elizabeth City and surrounding areas.

Mr. Perry stated that post 9/11, was a time when showing our national colors became the right thing to do throughout the United States. Consequently, he hired the tallest sky lift in town to display a large American flag expressing his Patriotic solidarity with America and the people of Elizabeth City.
